How to Share Your Faith in 8 Points

Recently I have had many conversations about the Gospel. Sharing it with unbelievers, discussing with others how to share with unbelievers, etc. What I have found is that many do not even know where to begin if asked exactly what they believe or to share the Gospel. So I've been inspired to dig up a Gospel lineup (outline) that a dear professor (Dr. Poe) taught me while I was in Bible school that has aided me when I give an account of my faith to others. What I love about Dr. Poe's 8 points is that it is no formula or format, trick or bait & switch- it simply is the Bible. So many times we forget God has given us everything we need to fulfill His commands. All we need is Gods word to share Him. But most of the time Christians today are unwilling to do the work and are bound by fear of rejection, & fear of ill execution that they resolve people would be better off not being bothered than to listen to their butchered attempt of how to get saved. But just as Dr. Poe says, "The gospel is not only the message of how to get saved, but also how to be saved. The gospel is for evangelism and discipleship." People do not want a formal speech. Be real. Meet them where they're at. Dont be intimidated by the fact that they may tell you they are an agnostic or a Buddhist. Start with common ground. They are human aren't they? Well so are you. They get scared just like you, they breath just like you do. Dont just tell them what you believe. Have a conversation about it. Do you believe the Bible? Talk with them about that. Do you know why you believe the Bible? Talk with them about that. Sharing the Gospel is not a one way conversation. Let them speak. Listen to what they want to tell you in response. Understand. Have the humanity to have compassion on whatever they respond with. The highest form of love you can show an individual is to have this conversation with them. And it just may be an on-going one that they do not see eye to eye with you at first. But through your love, your actions, your consistent care- something will be different about you than all the others. People gravitate towards love. Period. No matter the race, religion, or circumstance, people simply want to be loved and to love. And heres the good news: God (Yaweh) is love! He can meet those needs. He gives us a family in the Body of Christ, an inheritance, an identity, a purpose, and so so so much love we cannot even begin to fathom it. And best of all, He meets us right where were at. There is no interview process or tryouts. He simply says, "Come! Come as you are!" Brothers and sisters, do not be bound by the enemies lies. Share this beautiful gift. Watch God give you the words to speak. Watch God bring many sons to glory through your obedience. What other ambition is more awesome than that of a soul winner! All your friends, family, classmates, co workers - God has placed opportunity all around you and Heaven will be the finish line where we will all get to see just how robustly you took advantage of that opportunity. I hope this resource will aid you as it has aided me. The Gospel has more proof, history, arguments, legitimacy etc than any other religion. We as Christians have no reason to be scared! Our God is indeed God and He is in fact real & He really did raise from the grave & sits at the right hand of God! He will return one day! May we throw aside our fear to be bold about our faith. The facts are extensive and never ending and the story is not difficult to learn- we just have to use them! God has already provided all the materials we need. He says His word never returns void (Isaiah 55:11). All we really need is the Gospel itself. So here below I have provided a small information blitz as a practical guideline to help you keep it straight, in order, and comprehensive for yourself and for others to whom you are giving an account. I will give a few factual insights and highlights for each step, but feel free to do some research of your own as well to better learn and deliver this precious Good News.

8 Points of the Gospel:

1. God is a creator God (The God of the Bible is the only creator God. All other gods do not have a creation account. Yaweh is the only God. And what is a god that did not create everything to begin with? Well no god at all. But the God of the Bible created everything& more impressive than that- He spoke some of it into existence! Now thats a God!)
2. The fulfillment of prophecy (Fulfillment of Scripture, of all God has promised, is a major part of the gospel. It legitimizes that what the Bible says has come true throughout History & thus will also be true in regards to what it says about the future and present time.)
3. Jesus is fully man and fully God (Christ’s deity and incarnation. Only God could save men from a curse that held the weight of God. God came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ to bear the penalty for the curse for all men & could do so because He was God. He had to become a man to atone for the sin of men and to die, but is still fully God to actually be able to atone for the curse.)
4. Jesus died on the cross for our sins (This is the way in which He submitted His life in obedience to God to atone (cover/take care of/ wipe away) our sins.)
5. Jesus rose from the dead (The hope of our salvation & pinnacle of our faith is in this very fact that Jesus rose from the dead, conquering death which is the very curse of sin on all man)
6. Jesus ascended to the right hand of God (Christ’s exaltation as Lord. He is now living and Lord over all!)
7. The Holy Spirit came upon men (God's promised helper and gift came upon men. The Holy spirit is the person of Gods power within us that enables us to perform miracles, cast out demons, spiritually feed the body of Christ through our gifting, the source from which we pull to be able to follow Jesus, the power of enlightenment that enables us to understand Gods holy word, and be sensitive to Gods leading, and the means by which we will be raised from the dead when Jesus returns and takes us with Him to Heaven.)
8. The Second coming & Judgement (Jesus will return at the end times and take those who are in Him- who have the Holy Spirit- with Him to Heaven. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess He is Lord. And sadly, those who refused to recieve the Holy Spirit & call upon the name of the Lord to be saved will spend eternity in Hell.)

Romans 10:1-15:

"Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands. But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).” In fact, it says,
“The message is very close at hand;
    it is on your lips and in your heart.”
And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

Isaiah 55:10-11:

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."

Romans 3:1-31:

What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.
What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written:
“So that you may be proved right when you speak
    and prevail when you judge.”
But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.) Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world? Someone might argue, “If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?” Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”?Their condemnation is just!
What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one;
11     there is no one who understands;
    there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,
    they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
    not even one.”
13 “Their throats are open graves;
    their tongues practice deceit.”
“The poison of vipers is on their lips.”
14     “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16     ruin and misery mark their ways,
17 and the way of peace they do not know.”
18     “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith inJesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

Romans 5:

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners,so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
