“What sorrow awaits Assyria, the rod of my anger.
I use it as a club to express my anger.
I am sending Assyria against a godless nation,
against a people with whom I am angry.
Assyria will plunder them,
trampling them like dirt beneath its feet.
But the king of Assyria will not understand that he is my tool;
his mind does not work that way.
His plan is simply to destroy,
to cut down nation after nation."
2.) Genesis 50:20:
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people."
Some notes I liked by the New Living Translation:
1.) Although Assyria did not know it was part of God's plan, God used this nation to judge His people. God accomplishes His plans in History despite people or nations who reject Him. He did not merely set the world in motion and let it go! Because our all powerful, soveriegn God is still in control today, we have security even in a rapidly changing world.
2.) God brings good from evil for those who trust Him! Do you trust God enough to wait patiently for Him to bring good out of bad situations? You can trust God because He is God and he can overrule people's evil intensions to bring about His intended results.
What do these scriptures tell us about God, ladies?
- He has multiple resources (God uses those that intend to extinguish His own people and truth, turns it around and uses them to further Himself and His own purposes. God uses even our enemies as resources to benefit us!)
- God is not limited by our circumstances (God is unlimited! And any limit that exists- He created! God is the beginning, the end, the perimeter, the filler, and the foundation of all things. Even when we are limited- God is never limited and has the power to turn our circumstances from upside down to right side up, but we must trust Him. For the more we trust God, the more we will see He is unbound!)
- He can hear us when we pray- the requests we make travel to HIS ears in Jesus' name and He listens! (We must rely on God and have faith in Him, trusting in His faithfulness while we wait on His perfect timing. We don't pray to God just because we are supposed to, but we ask Him for what we need; we call on Him for help and deliverance. God is our advocate and when we pray to Him we call on forces greater than ourselves to intervene and grant them permission to transform our dead ends into paths of life. God knows all our needs, but this walk with Him is not for Him to better know us- He already knows everything about us- this walk is for us to better know Him! Thus, we pray and he answers- it is a communication line between us and God. We pray and His response is the either yes or no to our prayer request. God answers everytime, though it may not always be what we want, it is always what is best. He is faithful, and everytime we call on the name of God it is evident because He answers everytime which means He hears us everytime! Pray to Him!)
- God walks with us! His presence and being with us is hands-on; He is active and persistent. (Our journey with God is not supposed to stop at claiming the title of a Christian, but to live a lifestyle determined to claim Christ in every area of our life as well as every inch of our being. God doesn't sit afar from distance looking down on you in a snowglobe like structure like some santa claus guy- No! He is with you 24/7! He never leaves you. He is never too busy for you, no matter what time of day or circumstance- you have His 100%, complete and full attention. God is looking out for you. He is the eyes that guide your feet and the stronger your faith, the stronger the current of His will will pull you towards the right path. He goes before you and makes sure the soles of your feet as well as the walls of your heart are capable of handling the hike, all while, He never leaves your side. GOD IS HUGE, yet He wants you to know Him more and more, though you will never know Him fully because He is so epicly enormous. He desires that you draw near to Him knowing WHO He is because He wants you to know all that he can do and has done for you on a personal level out of love, so that you may trust Him enough to allow Him to take care of you more and more because God loves you and wants the best for you. God is not supposed to be this ambiguous side note in your life, and if He is, then it is because that is all you have allowed Him to be. It is through faith, through trusting Him, that you discover Him! For your perception of God is only as big as you are willing to walk. Let Him show Himself to you. Have faith that is hands-on and heart moving, and you will be able to percieve the extereme and awesome activity God is doing in your life.)
Challenge: Find two major circumstances that should have ruined you, but God used to transform you and benefit you. Journal about each in your prayer journal, and make it a point to share it with someone new that you do not know very well as a testimony of what the power of God can do!
